Hi, Welcome to the part 3 in this development log series. The development of the backgammon game is proceeding as planned. We have added piece movement and placement logic.
As you can see in this new preview, we have added movement and placement logic. For example when we move the white piece to an empty destination it takes first position. If there are already pieces at the destination slot it counts how many and places the piece accordingly. Next task is to add logic for hitting opponent pieces and move pieces out of the board.
Thats is all for now, stay tuned for the next part in this development log!

We are currently developing a new game at Verilune. It is a board game, one that is popular and definatley one of my favorites. This game offers true 3D graphics that will enable the player to change the camera perspective and watch the game from any angle he/she wishes. It will also gradually offer different styles for the board and backgammon pieces.
As you can see in this preview the 3D environment is setup and working, we can start a New Game, Roll the dice and select a piece. When selecting a piece it will give us hints of where we can move. The red dots indicate the possible checkers we can move the piece to.
The next tasks for completing this project is to develop piece movement animation and the artificial intelligence of the computer player.
We hope you are looking forward to try our implementation of the Backgammon Game soon.
